Listen up.

Love & Rum started with the first song on this list (Juice by Iyla). In fact, the working title of this book was ‘Juice’ until the actual title was born. From there, as I wrote, I would add any song that I heard that evoked the feelings of either of my MCs (main characters). Some are more literal than others (for instance the chorus of Casual), and some are straight-up mentioned in the novel (The Way You Look Tonight).

Music has always been a huge motivator and emotional driver for me. During the drafting and editing process, I would return to this soundtrack anytime I wanted to get into the headspace of Audrey or Jackson, or the mood of a particular scene.
